Solving Complex Problems, Creating Real Solutions
In JMU’s College of Integrated Science and Engineering (CISE), we’re addressing real-world problems through innovative student research projects that create lasting change. From designing a beach wheelchair to help individuals with mobility limitations to analyzing global conflict using satellite data, campaign modeling, and open-source intelligence, our students combine science, technology, engineering, and human-centered solutions to make a difference.
- Integrated Science and Technology Student Projects Fund: students designed and built an aquatic drone equipped with sonar, GPS, and a custom control system to map the depth and contours of two local lakes – data that now helps guide real-world environmental decisions.
- Engineering Student Projects Fund: students designed a beach wheelchair that helps individuals with mobility limitations navigate the sand and surf.
- Computer Science Student Projects Fund: enables Computer Science students to undertake hands-on projects and present their findings at research conferences
- Intelligence Analysis students are analyzing global conflict using satellite data, campaign modeling, and open-source intelligence to track geopolitical behavior and emerging threats. Their research is earning global recognition.
But we can’t do it alone.
Your contributions help provide the materials, components, and equipment students need to bring their ideas to life. Every gift fuels the innovation that drives our students’ success.
Your support turns possibilities into reality and empowers the next generation of problem-solvers to create solutions that change the world. Together, we can make it happen.
