Communication Studies Alums Give Like a Duke.

My name is Lee Mayfield, and I serve as the Assistant Director for the School of Communication Studies (SCOM). As you may know, the cost of higher education continues to climb, but with the support of our great alumni association, we are working to recognize outstanding students and help them make it to the finish line of graduation with a degree and a toolbox of skills and knowledge that will help them succeed.

Last year, Emily Hill was awarded the annual Bluestone Scholarship in the School of Communication Studies. Emily used these funds to help offset the cost of tuition and textbooks. This year, with your help, the SCOM Alumni Advisory Council hopes to support even more student scholarships.

You can play a role in changing someone’s future with just a small contribution — small contributions add up to make a big collective impact. So whether you skip that afternoon Frappuccino and contribute $5, or are able to make a more sizeable contribution (maybe a donation that represents the year you graduated – whether that is 1998 ($98 dollars) or 2021 ($21 dollars), every contribution will be used to support our outstanding students and help them realize their potential.
