The Center for Global Engagement opens the world to JMU students and JMU to the world. CGE prepares young leaders to thrive beyond borders by creating transformative study abroad experiences, welcoming students from more than 70 countries to campus, and forging partnerships that expand knowledge and opportunity across continents.

Through immersive international programs and deep cross-cultural engagement, students discover new perspectives, build essential skills, and cultivate the leadership our interconnected world needs: a leadership rooted in understanding, collaboration, and hope for a more peaceful future.

These opportunities come with added financial considerations. Students encounter expenses related to studying abroad, such as applying for passports, registering for international conferences, and international airfare.
