About JMU Lacrosse
JMU Lacrosse aims to compete for championships while showcasing strong team performances and developing future women leaders. The team works together daily in practices, lifts, and competitions, pushing themselves and each other to the limit to reflect the program’s values: Passion, Pride, Relentlessness, Discipline, and One.
The program excels not only on the field but also in the classroom and in service to the Harrisonburg community and beyond. The team is consistently recognized as an IWLCA Academic Squad, maintaining a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. Individually, student-athletes achieve remarkable academic milestones, including valedictorian honors, Academic All-American recognition, and IWLCA Academic Honors for maintaining a 3.5 GPA in their junior and senior years.
Off the field, the team actively gives back to the community through annual initiatives, such as providing holiday support for families in need, hosting free youth clinics, and organizing service games benefiting organizations like One Love, Special Olympics, and Morgan’s Message. Their ongoing partnership with Spotswood Elementary School also highlights the program’s dedication to the local community.
